A group home for anyone who has tbeen involved with drug abuse is a facility which offers continuous support and help for folks in recovery. A group home is ordinarily for troubled adolescents, but there are also group homes for folks with a mental health disorder or who are experiencing behavioral problems for example. Instead of sending people who are being affected by substance abuse or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum or other similar facility, a group home may help offer an acceptable environment to help individuals sustain stability in their lives and still have counsel and assistance within reach around the clock. Residents in the group home might be taking part in rehab services whilst in residence, or may be taking steps to get their life set up outside the group home so that they can at one point live independently outside the group home. For example, a troubled youth who's been in recovery or has recovered from substance abuse can work on getting their GED or acquire work. A group home is not necessarily a long-term or permanent answer, but it's a sensible short-term option for many who making the effort to get their lives back together again.
