Medicare is a type of medical health insurance designed by the U.S. government for seniors, in addition to those that have specific disabilities and diseases. If someone that has Medicare needs treatment for instances of substance abuse, their rehab will either be covered completely by their Medicare health insurance or to a great extent. The one catch is, the person must receive treatment from an alcohol and drugs detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be allowed to begin treatment, they may also have to see their primary care physician who must state that rehab services are medically essential, and the doctor will generally approve what type of rehab the person will take part in. Medicare Part An and Part B cover different types of rehabilitation providers. Medicare Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted center in the event that the individual must be in a hospital for his or her problem, and also the costs that they will have to pay for personally are identical to every other stay in a hospital. Medicare Part B will partly cover outpatient rehabilitation in the Medicare accepted facility, and the individual will have to cover whatever Part B doesn't pay for with supplemental insurance coverage or they're going to have to self pay.
