Dual diagnosis rehabs are centers which provide rehab to handle both addiction and mental health concerns at the same time. Inside a dual diagnosis rehab, rehabilitation counselors can help people through a detailed rehabilitation plan all geared towards restoring and replenishing mental, emotional and physical health as well as addressing substance abuse issues. Offering a safe and secure setting is essential so that dual diagnosis clients can be relaxed and remain undistracted from circumstances which may compromise their treatment plan and development. Rehab counselors will work to spot environmental factors in the client's life including negative relationships or other things that need to be addressed in order for the individual to be mentally healthy and abstinen t after they leave dual diagnosis rehab. Dual diagnosis clients also benefit from behavioral treatment which will help them develop far better coping methods so that they are better able to deal with life circumstances more proficiently after they leave dual diagnosis rehab as opposed to returning to drugs and alcohol as an inferior solution.
