TRICARE is medical health insurance that's provided to members of the armed forces of the United States. Drug abuse within the military is more common than one would assume, and the necessity to offer treatment to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers many different rehab services to handle drug and alcohol dependence including detoxification services, in addition to rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. People who have TRICARE will obviously be asked to obtain a prior approval before partaking in any type of rehab service, which is often organized with their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient center could be the favored rehabilitation choice, TRICARE covers a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in such a program per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are specific limits concerning how much time a TRICARE member can stay in an inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30-45 day window that is covered.
