A group home is typically for troubled adolescents, but there's also group homes for those with a mental health problem or who are encountering behavioral trouble for example. As an alternative to sending people who are experiencing substance abuse or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum or another similar facility, a group home may help offer an appropriate environment to help individuals maintain stability in their lives and have counsel and support at their fingertips around the clock. Residents in a group home may be involved in rehabilitation services whilst in residence, or may be taking actions to get their life setup outside the group home so that they can at some time live independently away from the group home.
