Medicare is a type of health care insurance created by the federal government for older folks, in addition to people who have specific disabilities and illnesses. If a person who has Medicare needs rehab for instances of drug or alcohol abuse, their rehab will be either covered fully by their Medicare insurance or to a significant degree. The only exception is, the individual will have to receive treatment coming from an alcohol and drugs rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be permitted to start treatment, they will also have to visit their primary care physician who must declare that rehabilitation services are medically essential, and the doctor will generally approve what type of rehabilitation the individual will take part in. Medicare Part An and Part B cover several types of rehabilitation services. Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted facility when the individual has to be hospitalized for their problem, as well as the costs that they will have to cover personally are the same as every other stay in a hospital. Part B will partly cover outpatient rehabilitation within a Medicare accepted center, and the individual will have to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't cover with supplement insurance coverage or they've got to self pay.
