A group home for somebody who has been involved in drug and alcohol abuse is a facility which offers continual support and help for those in recovery. A group home is typically for troubled adolescents, but in addition there are group homes for individuals with a mental health disorder or who are encountering behavioral trouble for example. As opposed to sending people who are struggling with substance abuse or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum and other similar place, a group home may help provide an acceptable environment to help maintain stability within their lives and still have counsel and support at their fingertips around the clock. Residents in the group home may be taking part in rehab services during residence, or could be taking measures to get their life setup outside of the group home so that they can at some point live independently not in the group home. For instance, a troubled youth that has been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can try to get their GED or acquire work. A group home is not really a long-term or permanent answer, yet it's a feasible short-term option for many who making the effort to get their lives back together.
