A group home for anyone who has been involved in drug and alcohol abuse is a facility which offers continual support and help for those in recovery. A group home is ordinarily for troubled adolescents, but there are also group homes for individuals with a mental health problem or who are experiencing behavioral problems for example. As opposed to sending people who are being affected by drug abusedrug use or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum or any other similar place, a group home may help offer an appropriate environment to help individuals maintain stability inside their lives and still have counsel and support at their fingertips 24/7. Residents in the group home could be getting involved in treatment services whilst in residence, or might be taking steps to get their life setup outside of the group home to enable them to at one point live on their own not in the group home. As an example, a troubled youth that has been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can work on getting their GED or obtain work. A group home is not necessarily a long-term or permanent answer, but it's a sensible short term option for individuals who making the effort to get their lives back together.
