Medicaid is a medical insurance available for many people who are in specific income brackets which qualifies them to receive this government provided insurance. Whether someone qualifies for Medicaid doesn't only determined by income however, and individuals shouldn't assume they don't qualify simply because they make a reasonable income. Certain states only cover outpatient rehabilitation services for instance while other states cover far more extensive treatment like a residential stay in long-term alcohol and drug treatment center. If a person is involved in drug abuse and needs help, they could use their Medicaid health coverage to obtain this treatment. If they do not have Medicaid plus don't have the cash or another type of health insurance to cover treatment, they could see if they qualify for Medicaid and then enroll in a drug and alcohol treatment program which is approved within their state.
