Medicaid is a medical insurance available for those who are in certain income brackets which qualifies them to obtain this government funded insurance coverage. Whether or not someone qualifies for Medicaid doesn't only depend on income however, and individuals shouldn't assume they don't qualify just because they earn an acceptable income. For instance, men and women who have many dependents may be entitled to Medicaid even when they earn what would be described as a fair income. Medicaid can also cover the costs of treatment, when someone has been abusing alcohol or drugs and requires treatment. There are numerous drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs which accept Medicaid, but various states have distinct rules for what sorts of rehabilitation are covered. Some states only include outpatient rehab services as an example while other states cover more intensive treatment such as a residential stay in long-term drug and alcohol rehab facility. If somebody is involved in drug use and desires help, they are able to use their Medicaid health coverage to get this help. If they do not have Medicaid plus don't have the funds or some other type of health insurance to cover treatment, they can check if they qualify for Medicaid and then enroll in an alcohol and drug treatment program that is approved in their state.
