TRICARE is health insurance that is offered to people in the armed forces of the United States. Drug abuse inside the military is a lot more common than one would think, and the need to offer treatment to these individuals is a priority. TRICARE covers a variety of treatment services to handle alcohol and drug dependence including detoxification services, and also rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. Those that have TRICARE will naturally be required to get a prior approval before partaking in any type of treatment service, that may be organized using a regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient program is the favored rehab choice, TRICARE will cover a three week period or one inpatient stay in such a program per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are specific limits regarding how long a TRICARE member can remain in an inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30 to 45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment which is often very beneficial, as it can certainly help include loved ones in the healing and recovery process.
