A group home for anyone who has tbeen involved with alcohol and drug abuse is a place which provides continuous support and assistance for folks in recovery. A group home is usually for troubled adolescents, but there's also group homes for folks with a mental health problem or who are experiencing behavioral difficulties for example. Rather than sending individuals who are being affected by drug abusedrug use or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum or other similar facility, a group home may help offer an appropriate environment to help sustain stability in their lives and also have counsel and assistance within reach around the clock. People who reside in a group home could be getting involved in treatment services while in residence, or may be taking steps to get their life set up outside of the group home so that they can at some point live on their own away from the group home. For instance, a troubled youth who has been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can work on getting their GED or acquire work. A group home is not really a long-term or permanent option, but it is a feasible temporary option for those who are attempting to get their lives back together again.
