TRICARE covers a variety of rehab services to handle drug and alcohol dependence including detox services, and also rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. Individuals with TRICARE will obviously need to have a prior approval before partaking in any kind of rehabilitation service, that may be arranged using their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient facility could be the preferred treatment option, TRICARE covers a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in this facility per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are certain limits about how long a TRICARE member can stay within an inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30 to 45 day window that's covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment that may be very helpful, as it can help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery.
