A group home for someone who has tbeen involved with drug and alcohol abuse is a place which provides continuous support and assistance for people in recovery. A group home is usually for troubled youth, but there's also group homes for individuals with a mental health problem or who are encountering behavioral difficulties for example. As opposed to sending individuals who are struggling with drug abusedrug use or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum or any other similar place, a group home may help offer an acceptable environment to help sustain stability inside their lives and also have counsel and support within reach 24/7. People who reside in the group home could be involved in rehabilitation services whilst in residence, or could be taking actions to get their life setup outside the group home in order to at one point live independently outside of the group home. For example, a troubled youth who may have been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can work on getting their GED or obtain work. A group home is not necessarily a long-term or permanent option, but it's a viable short term option for individuals who making the effort to get their lives back together.
