Offering gender-specific rehabilitation services has shown to be very helpful in situations where conventional treatment settings have fallen short, like dealing with situations within a women's life that happen to be unique and distressing. Such issues may pertain to sexual abuse, physical abuse, psychological abuse, eating disorders, one's family and motherhood, and other really serious issues which are particular to women. Research shows that women may also become involved in drug abuse more easily than men, and therefore are more predisposed to illness due to addiction problems than males consequently. Due to responsibilities in the home, women also tend to put off searching for and undergoing treatment, a situation which can lead to disaster.
