Medicare is a type of medical insurance designed by the government for senior citizens, along with people who have specific disabilities and diseases. If an individual that has Medicare needs rehab for instances of drug or alcohol abuse, their treatment will either be covered completely by their Medicare health insurance or to a significant degree. The only real exception is, the person will need to receive treatment coming from an alcohol and drugs detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be permitted to start rehab, they may also have to visit their medical doctor who must declare that rehab services are medically needed, and the physician will typically approve which kind of rehab the person will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover several types of rehab solutions. Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted program when the individual should be in a hospital for his or her problem, along with the costs that they will have to pay for personally are the same as every other hospital stay. Part B will partially cover outpatient rehab within a Medicare accepted facility, and the individual will have to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't pay for with supplemental insurance coverage or they will have to self pay.
