A group home for someone who has been involved in alcohol and drug abuse is a place which provides continual support and help for individuals in recovery. A group home is ordinarily for troubled youth, but there's also group homes for individuals with a mental health disorder or who are experiencing behavioral trouble for example. Instead of sending individuals who are struggling with drug abusedrug use or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum or other similar facility, a group home may help offer an appropriate environment to help maintain stability within their lives and still have counsel and support at their fingertips 24/7. People who reside in the group home may be getting involved in treatment services whilst in residence, or may be taking measures to get their life setup outside the group home in order to at some time live independently not in the group home. For instance, a troubled youth that has been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can work on getting their GED or acquire work. A group home is not necessarily a long-term or permanent solution, however it is a feasible temporary option for individuals who want to get their lives back together.
