Medicaid is a form of health insurance available for many people who are in specific income brackets which qualifies them to acquire this government funded insurance coverage. Whether an individual is qualified for Medicaid doesn't only depend upon income however, and individuals shouldn't presume they don't qualify simply because they earn an acceptable income. As an example, men and women who have a lot of dependents may be eligible for Medicaid regardless of whether they earn what would be considered a fair income. There are many alcohol and drug treatment facilities which accept Medicaid, but various states have different rules for what types of treatment are covered. Some states only include outpatient rehabilitation services as an example while other states cover more extensive rehab such as a residential stay in long-term drug and alcohol treatment facility. If a person is involved with substance abuse and wants help, they could use their Medicaid insurance coverage to obtain this treatment. If they don't have Medicaid and in addition don't have enough cash or another form of health care insurance to cover treatment, they could find out if they are eligible for a Medicaid and then enroll in a drug treatment center that is approved within their state.
