TRICARE is health care insurance that is offered to people in the armed forces of the United States. Substance abuse inside the military is a lot more common than one would imagine, and the necessity to provide rehabilitation to these individuals is a crucial priority. Those that have TRICARE will naturally have to obtain a prior authorization before taking part in any type of rehab service, which is often organized using a regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient facility could be the preferred treatment choice, TRICARE will cover a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in that facility per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are certain limits about how long a TRICARE member can remain within an inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30 to 45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family counselling which is often very beneficial, as it may help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery. No person in the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are expert rehab counselors ready to help today.
