Such issues may have to do with sexual abuse, physical abuse, mental abuse, eating disorders, one's family and being a mother, or any other really serious issues which are particular to women. Research has shown that women can also get involved in abusing drugs more easily than men, and therefore are more vulnerable to illness because of dependency problems than males as a result. Due to responsibilities in the home, women also tend to postpone trying to find and receiving care for addiction, a circumstance which can be a catalyst for disaster.
