Being diagnosed with HIV/AIDS may trigger drug abuse, or dangerous sexual conduct because of abusing drugs may have caused the individual to contract the disease. Individuals who have HIV/AIDS, either because of their drug use or as a pre-existing condition just before their substance abuse problem, typically require rehab services tailor-made to satisfy their specific needs and challenges. Some of these challenges are physical in nature, because of the fact that substance abusers with HIV/AIDS almost never look after themselves and take the proper medicines they need to preserve their health. Consequently, they arrive to rehabilitation in ibad health and this will have to be addressed as a priority whilst addressing other important issues.
