A group home for anyone who has tbeen involved with drug and alcohol abuse is a facility which offers continuous support and help for people in recovery. A group home is typically for troubled youth, but there are also group homes for folks with a mental health disorder or who are encountering behavioral difficulties for example. As opposed to sending those who are struggling with drug abusedrug use or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum or another similar place, a group home will help offer an acceptable environment to help individuals maintain stability inside their lives and have counsel and assistance at their fingertips around the clock. Residents inside a group home could possibly be involved in rehab services during residence, or could be taking measures to get their life setup outside of the group home so that they can at some time live independently outside the group home. For instance, a troubled youth that has been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can try to get their GED or obtain employment. A group home is not necessarily a long-term or permanent option, but it's a viable temporary option for those who want to get their lives back together.
