Medicaid is a health care insurance available for individuals who are in certain income brackets which qualifies them to obtain this government funded insurance coverage. Whether someone is qualified for Medicaid doesn't only depend on income however, and individuals shouldn't assume they don't qualify just because they make a reasonable income. For example, men and women who have a lot of dependents may be eligible for Medicaid even though they earn what might be described as a reasonable income. There are many alcohol and drug treatment programs which accept Medicaid, but different states have distinct guidelines for what sorts of rehab are covered. Some states only include outpatient rehabilitation services for example while other states cover more extensive rehabilitation say for example a residential stay in long-term alcohol and drug treatment center. If a person is involved with substance abuse and desires help, they can use their Medicaid health coverage to obtain this help. If they don't have Medicaid plus don't have the cash or another kind of medical health insurance to pay for rehabilitation, they could determine if they are eligible for a Medicaid and then sign up for an alcohol and drug treatment facility that's approved in their state.
