A group home for someone who has been involved in drug abuse is a place which provides continual support and help for individuals in recovery. A group home is ordinarily for troubled youth, but in addition there are group homes for individuals with a mental health disorder or who are encountering behavioral trouble for example. As opposed to sending people who are experiencing drug abusedrug use or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum and other similar facility, a group home may help offer an appropriate environment to help individuals maintain stability in their lives and also have counsel and assistance within reach 24/7. Residents in a group home may be involved in rehabilitation services whilst in residence, or could possibly be taking steps to get their life setup outside of the group home to enable them to at some point live independently outside of the group home. For instance, a troubled youth who may have been in recovery or has recovered from substance abuse can try to get their GED or obtain work. A group home is not really a long-term or permanent option, but it's a feasible short-term option for individuals who are attempting to get their lives back together again.
