Medicaid is a form of medical health insurance available for those who are in specific income brackets which qualifies them to receive this government funded insurance. Whether or not an individual is qualified for Medicaid doesn't only depend upon their earnings however, and individuals shouldn't assume they don't qualify just because they earn an acceptable income. As an example, individuals who have quite a few dependents may qualify for Medicaid even when they make what would be considered a reasonable income. Medicaid can also cover the price of treatment, if someone has been abusing alcohol or drugs and requires rehab. There are lots of drug rehabilitation centers which accept Medicaid, but different states have different rules for what types of rehab are covered. Some states only include outpatient rehab services for example while other states cover far more extensive treatment say for example a residential stay in long-term drug and alcohol treatment center. If someone is involved in drug use and needs help, they can use their Medicaid health coverage to get this treatment. If they don't have Medicaid and in addition don't have enough cash or any other kind of health care insurance to pay for rehabilitation, they can check if they are eligible for a Medicaid and then sign up for a drug and alcohol rehabilitation program that's approved in their state.
