Medicare is a type of health insurance developed by the U.S. government for older folks, as well as people who have certain disabilities and sicknesses. If someone that has Medicare needs rehab for cases of drug or alcohol abuse, their treatment will either be covered completely by their Medicare insurance or to a great degree. The only real exception is, the person will have to acquire treatment from an alcohol and drugs detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be allowed to start rehab, they can also get to visit their medical doctor who must state that rehab services are medically necessary, and the physician will generally approve what type of rehabilitation the person will take part in. Medicare Part An and Part B cover different types of rehabilitation providers. Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted center when the individual has to be hospitalized because of their problem, and the costs that they will have to cover personally are identical to any other hospital stay. Part B will partially cover outpatient treatment in the Medicare accepted facility, and the individual will need to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't cover with supplement insurance coverage or they'll have to self pay.
