A group home for someone who has tbeen involved with drug abuse is a facility which offers continual support and help for people in recovery. A group home is usually for troubled youth, but there's also group homes for those with a mental health disorder or who are encountering behavioral trouble for example. Rather than sending individuals who are experiencing drug abusedrug use or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum or another similar place, a group home might help provide an acceptable environment to help maintain stability within their lives and still have counsel and support within reach 24/7. People who reside in the group home might be getting involved in rehab services during residence, or might be taking actions to get their life setup outside of the group home so that they can at some point live independently away from the group home. For example, a troubled youth who has been in recovery or has recovered from substance abuse can try to get their GED or obtain employment. A group home is not really a long-term or permanent answer, yet it's a viable temporary option for individuals who want to get their lives back together again.
