Self pay might be the only option for those who need rehabilitation within an alcohol and drug treatment program for substance abuse but have zero health insurance. It isn't uncommon for an individual addicted to drugs or alcohol to not have private medical insurance, as it can be challenging to have an alcohol or drug habit going while also sustaining work.
