Dual diagnosis rehabs are programs which provide rehab to deal with both mental health and addiction issues at the same time. Rehabilitation counselors will continue to work to identify environmental issues in the client's life such as negative relationships or any other things that should be addressed in order for the individual to remain mentally healthy and sober t when they leave dual diagnosis rehab. Dual diagnosis clients also benefit from behavioral treatment which helps them develop more efficient coping methods so that they are better able to handle life situations well when they leave dual diagnosis rehab instead of turning to drugs and alcohol as an inferior solution.
