Offering gender-specific rehabilitation services has shown to be very useful in situations where conventional rehab settings have not meet expectations, such as dealing with situations in a women's life which are distinctive and painful. Such concerns may have to do with sexual abuse, physical abuse, mental abuse, eating disorders, one's family and motherhood, or any other significant issues that are particular to women. Research has shown that women may also get embroiled in drug use more easily than men, and therefore are more vulnerable to illness as a consequence of dependency problems than males as a result. After this step, professionals help women focus on both common and gender-specific concerns which may have induced their drug abuse. Women also utilize the beneficial support from other female peers, plus some facilities which offer treatment services to women provide client beds for their young children.
