A group home for anyone who has been involved in drug abuse is a facility which offers continuous support and help for those in recovery. A group home is usually for troubled adolescents, but there are also group homes for folks with a mental health problem or who are experiencing behavioral trouble for example. Rather than sending people who are being affected by drug abusedrug use or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum or any other similar place, a group home will help offer an appropriate environment to help maintain stability within their lives and still have counsel and assistance within reach around the clock. Residents inside a group home might be taking part in rehab services while in residence, or might be taking actions to get their life setup outside the group home so that they can at some point live on their own outside of the group home. For example, a troubled youth who has been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can work on getting their GED or obtain employment. A group home is not really a long-term or permanent solution, but it's a sensible short-term option for many who making the effort to get their lives back together again.
