A group home for anyone who has tbeen involved with alcohol and drug abuse is a place which provides continual support and help for individuals in recovery. A group home is ordinarily for troubled youth, but there's also group homes for people with a mental health disorder or who are encountering behavioral difficulties for example. Instead of sending people who are being affected by substance abuse or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum or another similar place, a group home will help provide an appropriate environment to help maintain stability within their lives and still have counsel and assistance within reach around the clock. People who reside in a group home may be taking part in rehabilitation services while in residence, or might be taking actions to get their life setup outside of the group home so that they can at some point live independently outside of the group home. For example, a troubled youth who's been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can work on getting their GED or acquire work. A group home is definitely not a long-term or permanent solution, but it is a practical short term option for those who are attempting to get their lives back together again.
