Medicaid is a type of health insurance available for those who are in specific income brackets which qualifies them to receive this government provided insurance. Whether a person is qualified for Medicaid doesn't only depend on their earnings however, and individuals shouldn't assume they don't qualify because they make an acceptable income. For instance, individuals who have a lot of dependents may be entitled to Medicaid even when they earn what would be considered a reasonable income. Medicaid may also cover the costs of rehab, if someone has been abusing alcohol or drugs and requires rehab. There are several alcohol and drug rehab centers which accept Medicaid, but different states have different rules for what forms of rehabilitation are covered. Some states only cover outpatient rehab services for instance while other states cover far more intensive rehabilitation such as a residential stay in long-term drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility. If someone is involved in substance abuse and needs help, they are able to use their Medicaid insurance coverage to get this treatment. If they do not have Medicaid and also don't have the cash or some other kind of health care insurance to pay for treatment, they can determine if they are eligible for a Medicaid and then enroll in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center that is approved inside their state.
