TRICARE is health insurance that is provided to folks in the armed forces of the United States. Drug abuse within the military is more common than one would think, and the need to provide rehab to these individuals is a priority. TRICARE covers a variety of rehab services to address alcohol and drug dependence including detoxification services, and also rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. People who have TRICARE will naturally need to have a prior approval before partaking in any type of rehab service, which may be arranged using a regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient facility is the preferred treatment option, TRICARE will cover a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in this particular facility per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are certain limits about how long a TRICARE member can stay in an inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30 to 45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment which can be very useful, as it can certainly help include family members in the healing and process of recovery. No person in the military should fight this battle alone, and there are skilled treatment counselors waiting to help today.
