Medicare is a sort of medical health insurance developed by the government for older persons, in addition to people with certain disabilities and diseases. If someone who has Medicare needs rehab for cases of substance abuse, their rehab will either be covered in full by their Medicare health insurance or to a significant degree. The only real exception is, the individual will need to receive treatment from the drugs and alcohol detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be allowed to start rehab, they will also have to visit their primary care physician who must declare that rehabilitation services are medically needed, and the physician will typically approve what sort of treatment the person will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover several types of rehabilitation providers. Medicare Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted facility when the individual needs to be in a hospital for their issue, and the costs that they will have to cover personally are the same as every other stay in a hospital. Medicare Part B will partially cover outpatient rehab in the Medicare accepted facility, and the individual will have to cover whatever Part B doesn't pay for with supplemental insurance coverage or they've got to self pay.
