TRICARE is medical insurance which is offered to people in the military of the United States. Drug abuse within the military is more common than one would imagine, and the need to provide rehab to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers a variety of rehabilitation services to address drug and alcohol dependence including detoxification services, and also treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. Those that have TRICARE will of course need to obtain a prior approval before taking part in any sort of treatment service, which can be organized using their regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient program is the favored rehabilitation choice, TRICARE will cover a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in this program per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are specific limits about how much time a TRICARE member can stay in an inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30 to 45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which can be very beneficial, as it could help include loved ones in the healing and recovery process. No person in the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are professional rehabilitation counselors standing by to help today.
