Outpatient rehab will allow for the rehabilitation client to participate in treatment services without the commitment one would usually have to consent to within an inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation center. This is often helpful for those who have recently completed a more complete inpatient or residential program as a good aftercare or maintenance step, or someone with just a brief history of drug use which is really a very small percentage of clients. For somebody with more significant addiction and dependency issues, inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehab centers which offer rehabilitation on a long-term basis are going to be the more advantageous rehabilitation choice.
