TRICARE is medical health insurance which is offered to members of the military of the United States. TRICARE covers a number of rehab services to cope with drug and alcohol dependence like detoxification services, along with rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. People with TRICARE will obviously be required to get a prior authorization before taking part in any kind of rehab service, which can be organized with their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient program will be the preferred treatment option, TRICARE will cover a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in this program per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are certain limits regarding the length of time a TRICARE member can stay in an inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30-45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family counselling which may be very helpful, as it could help include loved ones in the healing and recovery process.
