A group home for anyone who has been involved in drug abuse is a facility which provides continual support and assistance for folks in recovery. A group home is ordinarily for troubled youth, but there are also group homes for individuals with a mental health disorder or who are experiencing behavioral trouble for example. As an alternative to sending people who are struggling with substance abuse or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum or another similar place, a group home will help provide an appropriate environment to help maintain stability in their lives and have counsel and assistance within reach 24/7. Residents inside a group home could be taking part in rehab services during residence, or may be taking actions to get their life setup outside the group home to enable them to at some time live independently away from the group home. By way of example, a troubled youth who has been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can work on getting their GED or obtain work. A group home is certainly not a long-term or permanent option, but it's a viable temporary option for those who are attempting to get their lives back together again.
