Dual diagnosis rehabs are programs which deliver treatment to address both mental health and addiction concerns concurrently. Rehab counselors will work to recognize environmental factors in the client's life such as negative relationships or other things which must be addressed in order for the individual to stay mentally stable and sober t after they leave dual diagnosis rehab. Dual diagnosis clients also reap the benefits of behavioral treatment that helps them develop more effective coping methods so they are able to better deal with life situations more proficiently once they depart dual diagnosis rehab rather than returning to drugs and alcohol as an inferior option.
