TRICARE is medical health insurance that's offered to people in the armed forces of the United States. Substance abuse inside the military is much more common than one would assume, and the need to provide rehabilitation to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers a number of treatment services to cope with drug and alcohol dependence such as detoxification services, and also rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. People who have TRICARE will of course have to get a prior approval before partaking in any sort of treatment service, which is often arranged using their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient facility will be the favored treatment option, TRICARE will cover a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in this center per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are certain limits as to just how long a TRICARE member can stay in an inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30-45 day window that's covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment that may be very useful, as it can help include family members in the healing and process of recovery. No person in the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are skilled rehabilitation counselors ready to assist you today.
