Individuals who wish to maintain a certain amount of flexibility in their lives can engage in an outpatient rehab if they need rehabilitation for substance abuse. Outpatient rehab will allow for the rehab client to participate in treatment services without the commitment you might usually have to consent to in an inpatient or residential drug rehab facility. This doesn't often work in the treatment client's favor however, specifically those individuals who need to address substantial drug abuse issues. So although an outpatient rehab may seem like a convenient possibility, it isn't for everyone. People that choose an outpatient rehab will generally take part in meetings and be a part of therapy and rehab services on a part-time basis daily or a few days weekly. This can be very helpful for individuals who have recently completed an even more extensive inpatient or residential program as a good aftercare or upkeep step, and for someone with only a brief history of drug use which is usually a very small amount of clients. For an individual with more serious addiction and dependency problems, inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation programs which offer treatment on a long-term basis will be the more beneficial rehabilitation choice.
