A group home for a person who has tbeen involved with drug abuse is a place which provides continuous support and assistance for individuals in recovery. A group home is ordinarily for troubled adolescents, but there are also group homes for folks with a mental health problem or who are encountering behavioral trouble for example. Rather than sending those who are experiencing substance abuse or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum or any other similar place, a group home can help provide an acceptable environment to help individuals maintain stability inside their lives and still have counsel and support at their fingertips around the clock. Residents within a group home might be involved in rehab services during residence, or may be taking actions to get their life setup outside of the group home to enable them to at some time live independently outside of the group home. For example, a troubled youth who has been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can try to get their GED or obtain employment. A group home is not really a long-term or permanent answer, but it is a practical short term option for many who are attempting to get their lives back together.
