A group home for anyone who has been involved in drug abuse is a facility which provides continuous support and assistance for folks in recovery. A group home is ordinarily for troubled youth, but there are also group homes for individuals with a mental health problem or who are encountering behavioral difficulties for example. Instead of sending people who are being affected by drug abusedrug use or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum and other similar place, a group home will help provide an acceptable environment to help individuals maintain stability in their lives and also have counsel and assistance within reach 24/7. Residents inside a group home may be getting involved in treatment services whilst in residence, or may be taking steps to get their life setup outside the group home to enable them to at one point live independently outside the group home. For example, a troubled youth who may have been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can work on getting their GED or obtain employment. A group home is not necessarily a long-term or permanent solution, yet it's a feasible short-term option for those who are attempting to get their lives back together.
