A group home for someone who has tbeen involved with alcohol and drug abuse is a place which provides continuous support and assistance for folks in recovery. A group home is ordinarily for troubled youth, but there are also group homes for individuals with a mental health problem or who are experiencing behavioral difficulties for example. Rather than sending people who are experiencing drug abusedrug use or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum or other similar place, a group home may help offer an appropriate environment to help sustain stability in their lives and also have counsel and support at their fingertips around the clock. Residents within a group home might be taking part in rehabilitation services during residence, or may be taking measures to get their life setup outside of the group home in order to at one point live independently not in the group home. For instance, a troubled youth who's been in recovery or has recovered from substance abuse can work on getting their GED or acquire employment. A group home is not necessarily a long-term or permanent option, yet it's a feasible short-term option for many who are attempting to get their lives back together.
