TRICARE is medical insurance that's provided to individuals in the armed forces of the United States. Substance abuse within the military is much more common than one would think, and the necessity to provide rehabilitation to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers a variety of rehab services to address alcohol and drug dependence like detox services, and also rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. Those that have TRICARE will obviously be asked to have a prior approval before partaking in any sort of rehabilitation service, that may be organized using a regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient facility could be the preferred treatment option, TRICARE will cover a three week period or one inpatient stay in this facility per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are particular limits regarding how long a TRICARE member can stay in an inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, then there is typically a 30-45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which is often very helpful, as it can certainly help include loved ones in the healing and recovery process. No member of the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are professional rehab counselors standing by to help today.
