Medicare is a type of medical health insurance created by the U.S. government for older persons, in addition to those that have certain disabilities and sicknesses. If a person that has Medicare needs rehabilitation for instances of drug or alcohol abuse, their rehabilitation will either be covered fully by their Medicare insurance or to a significant extent. The only real exception is, the person will need to acquire treatment from an alcohol and drugs detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be allowed to begin treatment, they will also have to see their medical doctor who must declare that rehabilitation services are medically necessary, and the physician will usually approve what type of rehab the individual will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover a variety of rehabilitation services. Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted program in the event that the individual must be hospitalized because of their problem, and the costs which they willwill have to pay for personally are the same as any other stay in a hospital. Medicare Part B will partly cover outpatient treatment within a Medicare accepted center, and the individual will need to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't pay for with supplement insurance or they'll have to self pay.
