Individuals who wish to maintain a certain amount of flexibility within their lives can engage in an outpatient rehab when they need rehab for drug or alcohol abuse. Outpatient rehab enables the treatment client to take part in rehab services without the commitment one would ordinarily have to agree to within an inpatient or residential drug and alcohol treatment program. So even though an outpatient rehab might appear to be a convenient possibility, it isn't for everybody. People who do choose an outpatient rehab will generally take part in meetings and take part in therapy and rehabilitation services on a part-time basis on a daily basis or several days each week. This is helpful for those who have just completed a more comprehensive inpatient or residential program as an effective aftercare or upkeep step, and for someone with just a short history of drug use which is really a really small number of clients. For somebody with more serious addiction and dependency issues, inpatient or residential alcohol and drug treatment facilities that provide treatment on a long-term basis will be the more effective treatment choice.
