Being diagnosed with HIV/AIDS may trigger drug abuse, or risky sexual behavior as a result of substance abuse may have caused to contract the disease. People who have HIV/AIDS, either because of their substance abuse or as a pre-existing condition just before their drug use issue, often require treatment services tailor-made in order to meet their specific needs and problems. Many of these problems are physical in nature, due to the fact that substance abusers with HIV/AIDS rarely look after themselves and take the proper medications they need to maintain their health.
