A group home for a person who has been involved in drug abuse is a place which provides continual support and help for people in recovery. A group home is ordinarily for troubled youth, but in addition there are group homes for those with a mental health problem or who are experiencing behavioral trouble for example. As an alternative to sending those who are being affected by drug abusedrug use or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum and other similar facility, a group home can help provide an acceptable environment to help maintain stability inside their lives and have counsel and assistance within reach around the clock. People who reside in the group home might be taking part in rehabilitation services whilst in residence, or might be taking steps to get their life setup outside of the group home in order to at one point live independently not in the group home. For instance, a troubled youth who has been in recovery or has recovered from substance abuse can work on getting their GED or acquire work. A group home is not really a long-term or permanent answer, but it's a feasible temporary option for those who making the effort to get their lives back together again.
